Prof. P Barmun
My Story
Prof. BARMUN was born in lower middle-class family in Village Bound Kalan, Charkhi Dadrai, Bhiwani, and Haryana. In the constraint environment he did his high and Sr. Secondary schooling from Govt. Sr. Sec. School of village, Afterward, he did his UG & PG from University Department, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. After completion of Ph.D. (Engineering) from the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research - Central Scientific Instruments Organization, Chandigarh (India), he did his post-doctoral fellow at Hanyang University, Seoul, Republic of Korea from 2014 to 2016. In 2016, he was awarded President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) by Chinese Academy of Sciences President’s International Fellowship Initiative (PIFI) at Hefei National Lab for Physical Sciences at the Microscale, University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) Hefei, Anhui 230026, P. R. China. In the same year, he returns India and join Young Scientist at Department of Chemical Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), New Delhi, India.

In 2016, he was selected as Assistant Professor at Department of Nano Sciences and Materials, Central University of Jammu, Jammu and presently working as Full Professor in Chemistry and Chemical Science from 2025 to till now. During last around Ten years, he has implemented six research projects from external funding agencies including DST, SERB, DRDO, UGC and CUJammu costing around 850 Lacs and established Materials Research Application Lab (MARL) and DST- "Promotion of University Research and Scientific Excellence (PURSE) High End Instrumentation Facility at Central University of Jammu, Jammu. Prof. Barmun made significant contribution in the field of advanced materials for pollutants sensors applications and recycle waste materials in useful product. As an output of his research work, he has filled 03- Indian Patent, published around 116 high impact factor paper in journals including Progress in Materials Science (Elsevier), Progress in Polymer Science (Elsevier), Biotech Advances (Elsevier), Scientific Report (Nature) Journal of Materials Chemistry -A (RSC), ACS Applied materials and Interface, Trends in Analytical Chemistry (Elsevier), Biosensor and Bioelectronics (Elsevier), Mesoporous and Micro porous Material (Elsevier) etc., One Book Springer, 7 book chapter and 26 conference papers till now. In his more than 12 years of research and teaching, he has guided post-doctoral, 5 PhD students, and 30 Master students.
For his outstanding scientific contribution, he is conferred with “Haryana Yuva Vigyan Ratna Award for 2019-20. In last many years, he has also listed world Top 2% Scientists with more than 12000 Citations published by Elsevier.
